STRANGE MAZE, WHAT IS THIS PLACE? I HEAR VOICES OVER MY SHOULDER,
NOTHING'S MAKING SENSE AT ALL. WONDER, WHY DO WE RACE?
WHEN EVERYDAY WE'RE RUNNIN' IN CIRCLES, SUCH A FUNNY WAY TO FALL.
TRIED TO OPEN MY EYES, I'M HOPIN' FOR A CHANCE TO MAKE IT ALRIGHT.

[/b] Rowan finished her sentence with a scream as she felt something burning in her skin. Turning around she saw something in the distance, deep in the forest. Her mind was rolling as she glazed at the man who stood there with a crossbow. That was most definitely not a muggle. That man knew the forest well enough to know that going any deeper would cause trouble among the creatures.
"It's not a centaur. They make too much noise. And you would have seen them already....AWH!"
Rowan looked to see where the object was lodged in her body. Her right shoulder. How lovely, a wooden stake dipped in holy water. As if this couldn't get any worse. A second stake seemed to come and find itself lodged in her abdomen. She couldn't take this. How did these vampire hunters find her? Had they been watching her every move when she came out to hunt? Why attack now when she had someone else with her? She took the chance to bolt toward them. Kill them before they killed her. It felt like the only way to keep Alex from getting hurt for what she was.
Disappearing from sight, Rowan weaved between the trees until she got to the first wizard hunter. She was quick with her choice. It was the only way to have things done swiftly and quietly. She grabbed his head and pulled his head towards her snapping the neck. She dropped the limp body as another wooden arrow/stake plunged its way into her, this time her left thigh. Screaming in pain as she fell to her knees trying to hold herself together, but everything came undone right then and there. Sure she was a fast healer, but it took a lot longer because she wasn't drinking human blood to heal her wounds. She had been drinking animal blood and the process was slow.
She looked to Alex, her eyes filled with pain as she slowly sank to the ground. The hunter came up to see her as he shot off a few arrows with his crossbow at Alex. Rowan hoped they missed him. She didn't want anything to happen to Alex. Not for what she was. For what her diet was. It was never her fault. It was the teachers, for not coming out here with her to make sure things were alright and to keep her safe. How could she ever find the will to come out here without fear of being killed? It was already bad as it was as the wizard made her suffer for being a monster to mankind.
There were a few more stakes in her by the time the hunter left, taking his deceased comrade with him. Rowan was in agony, her cries were like a dying animal. "Alex. Help me... I can't feel anything. I can't move."[/b] Her mental state was impressive for someone who was used to running and hiding from those kind of people out to kill her. How she ever got to sleep at night thinking anyone at school could be a vampire hunter was truly an amazing defeat, but now, she was frightened inside. Terrified of what could happen now. She looked to Alex in the distance where she left him, her heart beating fast like it was going to pop out at any given moment.
The wizard had made her suffer. He shot at the body parts she used the most. Her hands and her feet. It was a wonder why she wasn't just killed right here on the spot. Was it so that everyone at the school knew who they were going to class with or slept in the same house with? A monster that could easily kill them in their sleep? Rowan could never do such a thing, but now, it was quite a possibility to kill those who came in her path to kill her. Wizard and Muggle alike. "Don't run, because your afraid to get attacked. He's gone with his deceased comrade. I can't let the others see me. I can't. Not like this. These stakes have to be pulled out. They have to...."[/b] Her weak state made her lose consciousness for the lack of blood available to keep her awake. It was all up to Alex, to do something. She was out like a lightbulb.
