Dear Dad,

If you thought this was something urgent and life threatening, you can breathe easy again. I'm safe, my grades are doing fine, basically the same since the last time you popped up at the school, so don't worry. I do, however, have...erm...a favor to ask.

I wanted to get Rory something...special this year for Christmas, and while we were out at Hogsmeade, we ran across this Kneazle kitten that's what the owner called a 'misfit'. Nobody wants to buy it, but Rory fell in love with it so...I bought it for her.

The favor I have to ask is if you'd come down and get the kneazle? Hold it till Christmas, because I can't take it with me to the castle without Rory seeing it. Please dad? I paid for it with my own money that I earned I just need a place to keep it. I even have food for it, and it's all on hold at Care of Creatures. So...will you take it in for just a bit?

Way to give an old man a heart attack. Of all the things I thought this letter might be, I have to say this wasn't one of them. A Kneazle kitten hu? Expensive gift.. but then you two seem to be..er.. closer.. than usual these days. Can't say I'm really surprised. Good to see your going about things the right way though.. best not to rush these things. I don't mind picking it up for you. Maybe it will be able to teach Digger a thing or two about manners during its stay..he's put a hole in 'another' of my best cloaks you know. Things going well? .. since our last that is?... remember our mutual friend in the castle if you have any trouble springing back..and keep up on 'All' of your studies.. don't forget your 'extra credit' reading alright? ..You'll be needing it soon enough.. I'll pick up the kitten after work tomorrow.

Sorry about the heart attack. And thank you so much for picking up the kneazle for me, which you should have done by now, I'm assuming. It means a lot to me...Rory is special, after all, so I figured she deserved a special gift.

As for Digger learning manners, I doubt that'll happen. Kneazle should be descent, though, as most of them are. Things are fine, I've been practicing a few of my subject more vigurously lately. I've been doing the extra credit, too, and I think I'm getting along quite nicely. Our mutual friend will, of course, always be there if I need a word, but so far I've been fine. Hope to see you soon. Hope work is going alright.
