Ellie walked down the street, glancing in shop windows as she went. She had a pouch full of money and nothing to spend it on. It was the Holidays, something that caused mixed emotions within the Slytherin girl, it meant no classes, something to be happy about, but this year she had to go home for the holidays, something she wasn’t too sure about. While she loved her aunt and uncle, that didn’t mean she liked to spend time with them. She usually stayed at Hogwarts for the holidays, but this year that wasn’t an option.
Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear to stop it from getting in her way, Ellie finally found a shop that caught her interest, it was a jewelry store. As she still hadn’t bought anything for her Aunt yet it was the perfect place to stop. She had already bought a book about Quidditch for her Uncle, their love for Quidditch one of the few things they had in common, but it was a slight bit harder to shop for her aunt, a well-rounded woman who was generally kind and a bit to overbearing at times. Who also happened to love jewelry. Stepping into the jewelry store, it took Ellie nearly a half-an-hour to find something her aunt would like, buying herself a simple snake necklace that had caught her eye as well.
Having bought what she needed and wanted to, Ellie made her way back to the Leaky Cauldron, planning on getting a bite to eat and to get out of the chilly weather. She usually loved the cold, preferring it greatly to heat, but it was even a touch too cold outside for her, which was saying something. Slipping into the Leaky Cauldron, Ellie sat herself on a stool at the bar and waited for Tom to come take her order. She glanced around the pub, looking for anyone that appeared to be interesting to talk to, but she had yet to spot anyone by the time the bartender had taken her order and gone off to fill it.
