#01 – Ring
She playfully shoves him away, but he’s having none of it; his hands make rings around her wrists as he pulls her close and presses his lips to the hollow of her neck.

#02 – Hero
Ada strains to reach the book she wants on the library shelf, standing on her toes and biting her lip in concentration, when Seb walks up behind her and snatches the tome she wanted, dangling it in front of her face. “My hero,” she laughs.

#03 – Memory
Every memory she has of him, every moment they spend together, is etched into her mind like a tattoo—he’s the one thing she could never, ever forget.

#04 – Box
They face off like boxers, circling each other, shouting, snarling, throwing punches in the form of words—absolutely furious, although they both know that in an hour they’ll be in each other’s arms, all of this forgotten.

#05 – Run
They’re stuck in a broom closet, waiting for the caretaker’s footsteps to fade, but after a while Seb leans even closer and whispers, “The coast is clear—go!” and suddenly they’re off, sprinting down the hallway with clasped hands, heading back to safety.

#06 – Hurricane
They’re both painfully aware that this happy time is just the calm before the storm of disaster that is surely on it’s way, but whenever they’re holding each other it becomes a little harder to care.

#07 – Wings
His lips press up against hers, his hands twined in her hair, and her heart thumps sporadically in her chest—it’s not a medical condition this time, though, it’s just because it has wings.

#08 – Cold
Her skinny fingers are always cold, but when Seb takes her hand in his larger, rougher one, she feels like her whole body heats up a few degrees.

#09 – Red
Ada’s wearing new lipstick tonight, and Seb can barely keep his eyes off her taunting mouth until he gives in and decides to snog that shade of red right off of her.

#10 - Drink
Ada tries to pry the half-empty bottle out of Seb’s hand, but he pulls away, slurring that he’s fine, that this isn’t a problem, that she should just stop worrying—unfortunately it’s easier said than done.

#11 – Midnight
She’s sitting on the couch, half-trying to do her homework but really waiting for Seb to reappear after his earlier exit with the seventh year in the short skirt, but when it hits midnight and there’s no sign of either, Ada’s heart twists and she knows she might as well go to bed now.

#12 – Temptation
Ada feels his lips against hers like wildfire, his hands hot as flames against her skin—something she’s never felt before—and she wishes it was the same for him but she knows she hasn’t been his only temptation.

#13 – View
“I brought you up here for the view,” Ada insists with a grin, but she can’t seem to keep her eyes or her lips off of Seb and his tawny eyes, disregarding the sunset visible through the window.

#14 – Music
Ada has on some Muggle music that Seb’s never heard of and she sings loudly to all the parts she remembers, singing exaggeratedly into her hairbrush and trying fruitlessly to get Seb to join her.

#15 – Silk
Ada’s nodding off, her head against his chest, but Seb remains awake, thinking about difficult things and winding a strand of her silky pale hair around his fingers.

#16 – Cover
She’s in the middle of saying something acerbic when Seb decides that this pointless fight should be over, so he grabs her face and covers it in a shower of kisses, successfully distracting her from whatever she was saying.

#17 – Promise
“You’re the only one who matters,” he mutters, holding her face and willing her to believe him with the intensity of his stare, “I swear, this has never happened before.”

#18 – Dream
He sees the little blonde pushing aside his curtains and sitting on the side of his bed and he’s sure it’s a dream, but then he realizes she’s not smiling and she’s just having another sleepless night and wants to talk to him.

#19 – Candle
A single candle’s still burning in the Common Room, but no one’s awake to use it; Ada and Seb are sprawled out in a tangle on the couch, the schoolwork they had meant to do completely forgotten in the comfort of sleep and the warmth of the other’s bodies.

#20 – Talent
Seb has a talent for making everything in Ada’s life more intense—anger, happiness, frustration, sadness, elation—and although she might not be comfortable with it, she’s slowly learning that she can’t go back to the paler world that was her life without him.

#21 – Silence
Ada’s been alone before and she’d even been used to it, but the silence after Seb is somehow so much worse than the silence before she’d met him.

#22 - Journey
Ada could probably sprint across the school no questions asked when she knows she’s going to meet up with Seb, but when he’s off somewhere else, even the walk to the Common Room seems like a long, pointless journey

#23 – Fire
She smirks and taunts and provokes, all hot flame, because as long as she’s too hot for people to really touch, she’s invincible—but Seb doesn’t seem to care about the heat, and he gets to her in a way that no one else has.

#24 – Strength
He manages to be stronger than she ever thought was possible, and it never ceases to amaze her that he can give everything he has to Kim and her but never seem to notice the pressure, and always manages to be the same man she fell in love with.

#25 – Mask
Ada spots Seb in the far corner of the room, his aloof, unconcerned mask in place, and she takes it upon herself to walk over and bring the real Seb out where he belongs—with her.

#26 – Ice
She can handle rage and temper and ranting, but what she can’t deal with is when he turns to ice and shuts her out like he does to the rest of the world—she’ll spend however long it takes in order to thaw him and get him back to the Seb she knows and loves.

#27 – Fall
It’s frightening really, how much he could get her to do, and how much he could do to her with a single word, but she supposes there’s always a long way to fall when you’re floating on Cloud Nine on a daily basis.

#28 – Forgotten
Seb pulls Ada close as if that will fix her, letting loose a growl of frustration that he had allowed himself to forget how fragile she could be with her hand pressed to her chest, her eyes wide, and her breaths ragged and shallow

#29 – Dance
She has no idea what she’s doing, but she makes a valiant attempt to stay off of Seb’s toes as he leads her across the dance floor, a roguish smile on his face.

#30 – Body
Once Seb’s shirt is off and his hair is tangled in her fingers she can see the body that makes her heart pound, and she can’t help but press herself closer to him and cover his lips with hers.

#31 – Sacred
“A classroom, really? Is nothing sacred?” Ada laughs in the moments she manages to pull herself away from Seb’s mouth, but he just grins into her neck, tightens his hold on her, and says, “No.”

#32 – Farewells
She knows she has to leave—to save him, to save Kim—but she didn’t know that telling him goodbye would literally rip the heart out of her chest and grind it into the asphalt.

#33 – World
She used to want to travel the world, see all the sights there were to see, but now even the sight of the New York skyline seems empty and boring without Seb—he’s her world.

#34 – Formal
They’re not even at the dance together, but the sight of Seb in formal clothes makes Ada’s pulse jump, and leaves her mouth so dry that she can barely fake a smile at her own date.

#35 – Fever
Ada shakes and shivers, her face red beneath the layers of blankets, and Seb watches silently, knowing she doesn’t want to be coddled but willing to give anything to make this stop.

#36 – Laugh
They’ve been slinging names and insults back and forth for half an hour, at least, but then Ada lets out a giggle and the game is over—soon they’re holding each other, laughing and kissing and gasping for air.

#37 – Lies
In a world full of lies and deceit, he’s her one piece of honesty—they never lie to each other, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

#38 – Forever
“Bloody hell, when will you stop confusing me?” he wants to know, and she wraps her arms around his neck and replies, “When you stop driving me crazy, baby, which will happen promptly at the end of forever—pencil that one in.”

#39 – Overwhelmed
She sits in the bathtub, knees up to her chest, biding her time in the hot water because she doesn’t know if she can get out and face Seb—it’s overwhelming, all of it, and she feels bad for thinking that things were hard before.

#40 – Whisper
“I love you,” she whispers, her lips against his ear, and they both freeze for a moment, unsure of how to proceed, but then he’s grinning from ear to ear and his mouth is over hers, and the temporary awkwardness floats away.

#41 – Wait
He’s always waited when she’s told him to, always been a gentleman, but this time she doesn’t slow him down, just lets him know what she’s thinking by unbuttoning his shirt and pushing it off his shoulders, trailing her lips over the bare skin there.

#42 – Talk
“Talk to me, please,” he whispers, clutching at her arms, but she shakes her head, her cheeks flushed, saying “I can’t,” and pulling away.

#43 – Search
He’s been searching the whole castle to find her, wasting valuable snooping time, but when he finds her and her lips curve into a smile that lights up her whole face, everything seems worth it.

#44 – Hope
She showed up with another guy, true, but the way those blue eyes kept on meeting his own gave him something he hadn’t expected: hope.

#45 – Eclipse
She thought she’d have doubts before running to him—what would he think? Would he tell her to go away? Did she look okay?—but the need to see him had completely eclipsed the restrictions that her pride usually imposed on her.

#46 – Gravity
Seb pushes the broom off the ground, and although she’s scared at first she soon finds herself enjoying the experience, because she feels like she trusts Seb more than she trusts the pull of gravity.

#47 – Highway
Suze insisted that they take her motorcycle out for a drive while they were in town, and pretty soon Ada’s grinning and screaming in happiness, her arms around Seb’s waist as they speed down the highway.

#48 – Unknown
He isn’t accustomed to feeling lost and confused, but this time he honestly doesn’t know what the future holds and he can’t think of a single reason why she would do something like this.

#49 – Lock
The door to the bathroom is locked and sealed with spells and there’s no answer to his calling, even though he can hear the running water that’s only on so Ada can muffle whatever she’s feeling.

#50 – Breathe
There’s this strange complexity around Seb—he makes her feel safer than she could’ve ever imagined, but at the same time she can never manage to catch her breath whenever he looks at her and smiles that lopsided grin of his.

1. Comfort - He pulls her to him, wanting to hold her closer than is possible, let his love for her flood inside and chase away all that's frightening and upsetting her.

2. Kiss - She looks to him with those beautiful blue eyes, ever searching..set on knowing and understanding him whether he allows it or not, and he feels an over powering urge to lean down, press his lips gently to hers, and show her just how that makes him feel.

3. Soft - He ran a thumb over the surface of her cheek, marveling at how someone so soft could have pierce his heart so thoroughly.

4. Pain - She was hurting and he was at fault, if the pain of that weighed any heavier on his heart he was certain he'd die from the pressure.

6. Rain - The thrumming of the rain on the roof has nothing on the pounding of his heart beat as the realization sinks in..he's in love with the frail and beautiful Gryffindor curled against him asleep on the couch.

7. Chocolate - Chocolates, flowers.. none of its good enough.. not this time.. not for this girl, .. damned if it wasn't a hard gift to give though, the saying of just three little words.

8. Happiness - She want's him to stop spying.. it could ruin his life.. endanger his sister, he'd have never given it a second thought before.. so why is he so torn by the chance to bring her happiness?

9. Telephone - There's something to be said for muggle technology such as telephones, you can't hear an owl letter..and sometimes her voice makes all the difference.

17. Tears - She sobbed into his black fur and his chest vibrated in a comforting purr as he let her hug him to her, wanting to do so much more, hold her, talk to her, it was moments like these it was bloody damned hard to play off as being Nox.

19. Wind - "Seb.." her voice came out unsure.. he chuckled softly as the wind whipped past them and tucked her more securely to his chest as he guided the broom.." It's ok Ada.. no bludgers around I promise.. and besides,.. you know I'd always take the hit for you... right?"

20. Freedom - Ada reached out to touch his arm which was tense in restrained anger and hate as he clutched the crumpled letter in his hand.."I'm going to get her out of there and I don't care what I have to do, or who I hurt to do it.."

So this is a really long, really random fic thing about Ada and nightmares and how she deals with them. >.> I was inspired by dey's nightmare sequence, so I had to write my own and then it got out of hand....So here it is. Oh, one of Ada's dreams gets intense so I'm rating this PG-13. xDD And I'm really sorry if I butchered seb's character. D:

She walked down the corridors, head down, hoping that her stride would be fast enough to get her away from the men she knew were somewhere behind her. But it wasn’t working—she could hear the slow, steady footsteps echoing down the hallway, gaining on her. How could such meticulous, unhurried steps be gaining on her? Ada quickened her pace, straining her legs to go faster, faster, faster. But those footsteps were still getting closer, and they still had that deliberately slow pace. She broke into a run, sprinting though the twisting corridors, her breath in her throat.
She risked a glance backwards. Mistake, because she saw him. That tall man in the black suit, his face blank and his posture unassuming—as if she would find him harmless just because he was relaxed. He was closer than she’d thought he’d be—too close. Run faster. You have to.
Ada tried, pushing herself as hard as she could, her mind filled with fear and dread. But then ahead of her another suited man stepped out of the shadows, and to her right, and to her left. She was trapped. Hands closed around her shoulders from behind, stopping all her pointless running, and pushed her to her knees on the cold floor. The other three came closer, and the one directly in front of her shook his head and gave the tiniest of frowns. ”Not good enough,” he scolded.
”No,” Ada breathed, because she knew what that meant…
The man in front made a gesture, and more suited men stepped out of the shadows. But they were holding her family with them.
There were Mel and Suze in the grasp of the suited men, Mel holding back tears, Suze staring resentfully at Ada. They were holding shredded pieces of paper in their hands. Mel brought her teary eyes up to Ada, and in unison the twins said, “Look what you’ve done.”
And there were her parents, her dad’s arm around her mother’s shoulder as she covered her face with her hands. Her dad’s eyes were horrified, disappointed, and her mom wouldn’t even look at her. ”Ada, why? It was so simple…”
And there. There was Drew. His big blue eyes were wide and scared as the suited men put their hands on his shoulders, and he looked around the scene in horror. God, he was so scared…Ada reached out towards him, struggling to find something to say, but the suited men pulled Drew away, back into the shadows. Ada tried to follow him, but she couldn’t even stand up—she was useless, pinned to the ground by the man holding her shoulders. She had no control, no way of helping.
The suited men pulled the rest of her broken family away, melting into shadows, and all Ada could do was scream, yell, plead, beg, but that did nothing. Her family was gone, ruined, and all that was left was the suited man holding her shoulders so she couldn’t run away.

Ada’s eyes snapped open, her heart beating fast and a scream or a sob (she didn’t know which) bubbling its way up her throat. She swallowed it like a pill, forcing herself to stay silent. The rest of the world was asleep—she wouldn’t wake them up over a dream. And that’s all it was—a dream. More like a nightmare, actually, but it was still nothing more than an illusion of her subconscious mind. She couldn’t let it affect her like this; her stomach was in knots, her pulse was too quick, and her clothes were sticking to her because of her cold sweat.
She shifted under her blankets, trying to find a different position where she could get back to sleep, because Merlin knew she needed it—she didn’t get enough sleep these days. And when she did, it was often peppered with nightmares like these. Nightmares that were scarily close to what reality could be. Ada shuddered at the thought of that dream coming true. She wouldn’t let it.
She just needed to go back to sleep. All she asked for was no more dreams.

“I’m sorry,” Ada gasped, her voice raspy and frantic. “I’m sorry, I can’t. I can’t. Not right now.” She began to pull away from him, moving away from his lips on her neck and his hands under her shirt. She didn’t like this. He was going too fast.
But he pulled her back to him, his hands too tight on her waist, his lips moving over the skin on her neck.
“Jeremy, stop, okay? Please. I can’t.” She pushed him away, putting actual force into her arms this time—as much as she could manage, anyways.
He stopped. But when he pulled his face away from her neck, Ada could see his expression. And it wasn’t pretty.
He was scowling, his eyes reproachful, his face full of disappointment. He was angry with her, she knew. And she hated it—she hated making him angry.
“What’s the matter this time, Ada?”
“The furniture is arranged wrong—it’s throwing off my feng shui.” Ada flushed. “What do you THINK is wrong, Jeremy? I just don’t want to…be going this fast. I’ve told you before.”
“And I think you’re wrong. I’ve told you THAT before. We’re not even going that fast.”
“Yeah? Well, it’s too fast for me. Sorry.” Ada let her hair fall in front of her face to hide the fact that she was blushing—it was killing her to make him unhappy.
Jeremy scoffed, tossing his hair. He pulled one hand off of her stomach in order to put it on her face and turn it towards him.
“Look, baby, you care about me, don’t you?”
“Yes, of course, I just don’t—“
“I want you to say it. Say that you care about me.”
“Jer, is this a test? Cause I’m not taking it.”
“Just say it.”
“But—“
“Say it.”
“Fine! I care about you. A lot. Can we be done with this now?”
“So you care about me a lot. If that’s true, then why can’t you do this one little thing for me, huh?”
“It’s not little,” Ada mumbled, avoiding those pale blue eyes of his. “And me being able to do this has nothing to do with how much I care about you—I’m just not ready.”
“It has EVERYTHING to do with how much you care about me. And I’ve got this feeling that you don’t really care about me at all.” Jeremy caught her eyes with his, and Ada was shocked at how accusatory his gaze was. But she could see from his expression that he was hurt. And when he stood up and began to walk away, Ada couldn’t stand it.
“Wait! Jeremy, wait!” She stood up and grabbed his arm, turning him around to face her. “You’re so dumb. I totally care about you, okay? I love you.” She almost whispered the last part. I felt wrong in her mouth—like it wasn’t completely true—and Ada hated lying. But it wasn’t a complete lie, because it COULD be true, given a little more time. And Jeremy was leaving—if a half-lie could stop him, then she would allow that half-lie to leave her lips.
Jeremy turned around, his icy eyes intense. “Prove it.”
And she tried. But ten minutes later, when they were on the couch, her shirt half-off and his hands on the back of her bra, she had to stop him again. And then Jeremy exploded.
“You don’t even love me, Ada. How could you lie to me?” He sat up, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Alright, I lied.” Ada sat up too, putting her hands on his shoulders. “But I only lied because I DO care about you and I didn’t want you to leave.”
Jeremy turned his face towards her, and his expression was one that Ada had never seen on his face before: a cold sneer, his eyes equally icy. “And what good does your ‘care’ do me, huh, Ada? What difference does it make if you won’t put out? And better yet, WHO CARES about how you feel?”
Ada stared at this Jeremy she’d never seen before—this was a monster, not her boyfriend. Was this really happening?
Jeremy wasn’t even done. “I don’t care if you love me or not, you little tease. I don’t love you. This was all a mistake—I thought that you actually might be worthwhile. But THAT was obviously my bad.” He stood up, grabbing his jacket and sliding into his shoes. He only turned back to Ada when he was right by the door, looking at her with eyes that were remarkable in their coldness, their objectiveness. And Ada knew what he saw—a girl sitting alone on the couch with her shirt bunched up and half-removed, her hair messy and knotted, her lips swollen, and her eyes wide and horrified and helpless. Jeremy smirked. “Thanks for wasting three months of my time, Ada. I wish I could say that I appreciated it. But hey, you could be fun SOME of the time.”

This time, Ada only woke up when she took in a shuddery, gasping breath, burying her face in her pillows. Why was it that one nightmare always seemed to attract others? It was as if having a nightmare put a giant flashing sign over her head that said “nightmare convention—here”. She didn’t know which one was worse—the first one, all possibilities and horrible futures, or the second one, less dream than a painful memory that she could do nothing to prevent or change.
One thing was for sure—she wouldn’t be getting any more sleep tonight. That option was out the damn window. Her mind kept on playing loops of the two dreams, forcing her to rewatch the same scenes over and over again. And before she knew it, Ada was swinging herself out of bed, wincing briefly at the feeling of the cold stone beneath her bare feet. She knew where her feet were going, and she gladly let them lead her out of the room filled with her sleeping dorm-mates and down into the Common Room. She was hesitant as she walked up a different staircase—maybe she should’ve changed out of her old flannel pants and thin T-shirt. Maybe she should’ve showered. Maybe she should’ve combed her hair. Maybe she should’ve just stayed in bed and dealt with this herself. But none of these thoughts stopped her, because the need to see him was stronger than vanity or doubt. Which scared her a little, but there wasn’t a lot she could do about it.
She ascended the staircase, silently walked into the room that she knew he was in, and surveyed the dorm. There were a lot of sleeping forms—no one awake, thank God—but thanks to the dark and the fact that everyone was beneath a cover of some sort, she couldn’t tell which one was the one she was looking for. But then she spotted him, thanks to the dark form of Nox curled up on the foot of the bed. And the fearful knots in her stomach began to loosen.
She padded over to his bed, but even her quiet movements woke Nox up. Luckily for her, the cat didn’t meow, he just stretched and left, which left an open spot for Ada at the edge of the bed. She sat down there, pulling her knees up to her chest and pulling the curtains closed so no sound would carry.
She put her hand on Seb’s calf and shook gently. “Seb,” she whispered, but he didn’t move. He was sleeping on his stomach, his head turned sideways on the pillow and his mouth slightly open. Ada felt a tug of guilt for trying to wake him up—he probably needed sleep more than she did. But it was too late—Seb jolted awake with a grunt, rolling over and looking around at the closed curtains with confusion. Then his tawny eyes caught sight of her at the foot of the bed, and for a moment he looked more confused than ever. However, Seb rubbed his hand over his face and seemed to get his bearings, because when he looked at Ada again he was frowning, his eyes curious.
“Ada,” he greeted her, his voice lower than usual because of how recently he’d woken up. The sound of him saying her name made her heart turn over in her chest, but she tried to hide it—this wasn’t good for her, and he didn’t want it. It was best if it just went away. But heart aerobics aside, she could still be here, right? This was what friends did. It was perfectly innocent, as long as she got rid of the extra feelings that made her pulse pick up whenever he met her eyes.
“Ada, what are you doing here?” Seb ran a hand through his hair, looking around the small enclosed area again and pushing himself up on his elbows. “Did something happen?”
She shook her head, smiling a little. “No, everything’s fine. Sorry for waking you up, I just….I couldn’t sleep, and I needed to talk to you. About anything.”
