On behalf of the members (I'm sure you'll agree with me (; ) I'd like to apologise for the terrible spamming that went on in the cbox tonight. I was not the one who started it, but Albus, Jared, Ashes, and I did our best to chase them away. Any prospective members that saw that... it wasn't the site's fault, but I'm sorry if you had to go through that. A lot of insults were traded, a lot of idiotic comments posted. Hopefully this will not happen again.

Also, I would like to note that the spammers used certain members' cbox names, particularly that of Snakey. I would like to stress that this WAS NOT HER. I know that Snakey wouldn't put up with this kind of stupidity, no matter how bored she got. I suggest to everyone that you just ignore it, and if it happens again, it's best if you DON'T TALK to the spammers, as that seems to make them leave sooner. Also, the anti-spam settings on the cbox will ban them if they post too often, as it happened tonight. Just let them go until they get themselves banned. (:

Very important: register your cbox name so that no one else can use it! In the lower right hand side is a 'profile' button. If you click it, a box will appear with two boxes to put in a password. I suggest doing so, in order to keep someone from impersonating you.

I apologise on my own behalf, as I think we in the cbox may have gotten a little testy (for good reason) and for the fairly formal language in this announcement, as my brain was about to explode from the lack of spelling, grammar, and intelligence in the cbox.

Posting to this message isn't required nor needed, but I would also like to pass along my apologies. Really, I'm saddened to think that people would do that. And to think that they were saying we were the ones with no life. *shakes head*

I am also terrible sorry about said events. I advise that you all password protect your names. I also gave Lucy & Chris/Al Mod powers in the C-Box. So if they decide to turn in again they can ban him/her if I'm not online.

There is more than one opportunity for the spammer to come back, which means that he/she can still return. That is why we need to be fully protected. I can put in an Anit-Spamming code for the site, hopefully it will help. Also in order for the spammer to be blocked from any way of posting is to change the stats of the certain board. Such as, if anyone has ever administered a proboards site, there is three drop down menus at the bottom of the Modify/Create board page. It says

Create Threads: Everyone
Reply to Threads: Everyone
Create polls: Registered Members

What we need to have it say on every board is...

Create thread: Registered Members
Reply to thread: Registered Members
Create Polls: Staff Only

We also need to activate all of our accounts, if you haven't done so already. To do this just go to your email account, click the url and you should be finished.
