Cissa sighed quietly, looking up at the navy blue bed hangings that were pulled closed around her bed. She was awake a whole lot earlier than she needed to be. At 3:00 in the morning it would’ve been completely normal for her to be awake this late on a Saturday or Sunday after a party or something. However, on a Tuesday when there had been no party the night before, Cissa simply couldn’t figure out why she was awake.
Groaning, Cissa decided that she might as well get up and go down to the common room to finish up some homework that would be due later in the week. Doing just that, she ended up curled up in front of the Ravenclaw fireplace in her favorite chair with her Charms textbook in her lap and a piece of parchment on the table beside her. She had an essay due for Flitwick in a few days and she hadn’t even started it yet.
Looking through the textbook for the information she needed, Cissa heard something or someone move and her head snapped up, looking for the source of the noise. She was way too imaginative, always imagining the worst things in the dark. Going back to the textbook, Cissa assumed she had just been imagining things again.

Alexander had been working harder than ever in the last few days. The past full moon had left the boy weak for two days and he had much catching to do. He quickly noticed that he had been alone in the common room. It would be a good thing to go to bed, he could finsih it later, but what id he overslept. Finally giving in he continued to work untill the tiredness won and he felty asleep right in the couch.
It had been a dreamless sleep only interupted by a few steps. Alex at first thouht that it was a house elf anmd returned to his sleep, only to remember he was not in his dorm. His head flew up so fast that Alex could hear a few bones crack. It was already three in the morning and he needed to get up there quickly. Alex began walking only to notice that he was not with a house elf but a fellow Ravenclaw.
He looked down at her, only to notice it was the youngest Malfoy. He wanted to leave without disturbing her but walking on the dark was not a good idea and he ended upo tripping. He heard a loud bang and felt square on his face. He didn't feel any pain as he sat on the floor. But his quiet scape had been interupted. "Hey there." Alex finally called, but not before taking his wand out. "Lumos"

Cissa jumped when she heard a loud bang, and looked around, hand already on her wand in her pocket. She heard a whispered ‘lumos’ and saw an older guy sitting on the ground not to far from her. Mentally shaking her head, she knew she was paranoid, of course it was just a housemate also up at this ungodly hour.
At the greeting, Cissa smiled at the guy, replying, “Hey, you okay? It sounded like you hit something pretty hard.” She gave him a worried look, wondering if he needed any help and, getting up, she moved to sit next to him, looking him over to see if she could see any bruises or anything that might indicate an injury.
Cissa looked around, wondering what the boy had walked into or tripped over. There were way too many ways too hurt yourself when in the common room in the dark.

Alexander looked up at the younger Ravenclaw. Some of his hair had fallen over his face and he removed it as she sat down next to him. "Don't worry I'm fine, I have faced worse injuries." Alex hand moved unconsciously toward his right hand, where the scars off his werewolf attacked him when he was only a thirteen year old boy. I just hit one of the desk, I missed my mouth by an inch, that would have left a mark." Alex smiled at the smaller girl. Showing that he was just joking.
"He stood up and straightened his robes. I felt asleep studing, I seem to have fallen behind a bit and you woke me up." As he spoke Alexander began picking his books, which had fallen all over the place. " I didn't want to disturb you, so I didn't use Lumos as I returned to my dorm. Sorry if I ended up scaring you."
Alex finally finished picking all of his books and papers. H ecould organize them later after he got some sleep. It was far to dark now to do it anyway. "So what are you doing up so early?" Alex wasn't sure if it was a good question, but must students where fast asleep by this hour. Cissa didn't look to him as the type that when around this hour. But he could be wrong, maybe she just wasn't tired or there was something on her mind.

Cissa smiled when he assured her he was alright and laughed about his comment about leaving a mark if he had fallen on his face. “Well then I suppose it’s a good thing you didn’t,” She commented with a smile. “It’d be a pity to ruin that face.” That comment was the truth, and she admitted it to herself as she helped Alex gather up his books.
At his comment about her waking him up she glanced at him, saying, “Sorry, I didn’t think anyone else was down here…I probably would’ve been quieter had I realized.” And it was true, she hadn’t thought anyone else would be strange enough to be hanging around the common room at that time. Though falling asleep on the couch did explain it all.
Shaking her head when he apologized to her, Cissa told him, “Don’t worry about it, I’m way too jumpy for my own good.” What she didn’t add was it was usually nightmares of what her Aunt Bellatrix might do to her or her brother that made her stay up late and see and hear things in the shadows that weren’t actually there. That woman scared the shit out of Cissa.
