She grinned as in his excitement Soren began rambling about Quidditch, his accent thickening the more into the subject he got. She forced down the urge to giggle. He might take that the wrong way, as really, she found his accent cute rather than funny. It was part of who he was and what made him attractive to her. Her eyes had lit up at the mention of Puddlemere. So they shared a team then...
"Puddlemere hu? They've been my favorite since I was eight, my dad took me to see a game of theirs once at Dorset, brilliant game.. they buried the opposing team. "
At his frown and worries at the idea of possibly not making the team she shook her head wanting to dispel his fears..
" I doubt you've any thing to worry about, your bloody brilliant on a broom.. as is it takes a good bit of team work on the part of we beaters just to unseat you...."
She grimaced a bit recalling their first practice and how she and her fellow beater had teamed up on him. Had he not been focused on Jared at the goal hoops she was certain he would have dodged that bludger. As it was the bloody thing had all but shattered his collar bone.
" usually only then if your distracted..."
She mentally switched off from the unpleasant memory of Soren in pain and instead focused on the next question he put to her. She thought on it for a few moments as they walked. Enjoying a cool evening breeze off the lake as it toyed with her hair and rustled the branches of a tree as they passed it, she looked to the ground lost in thought for a moment before finally answering..
" Well.. I had been planing to try for professional Quidditch as well actually... but my mother.. she thinks it would be a waist of my abilities... It use to make me mad because, hey, it's my life right?, but the more I've thought on it I'm not to sure anymore. Things are happening out there...some bad things.. "
She lifted her gaze in the general direction of what lay beyond the boundaries of Hogwarts.
" Al's dad told me the Auror's have a training program that can help me really get a grip on my gift, so I've been considering maybe gearing my classes towards becoming an auror .. "

Soren could feel the tips of his ears turn red when Rory complimented him. Usually in practice, it was the other way around. Soren was the one praising and raising spirits at the end of the day, denying that he, too, had played well. He tried to reserve judgment on his abilities; he didn't want to get a swelled head. But, he had to admit, it was nice to hear it all the same.
"Oh, brilliant," he said as Rory related her experience at a Puddlemere United game. "I try ta see them whenever I can, they're me favorite too. Of course, I would probably play for any team tha' takes ma', even, he laughed, "the Chudley Cannons. But Puddlemere is definitely ma' first pick." He smiled.
Rory frowned at his next question, and Soren looked at her, confused. Maybe this wasn't a topic she particularly cared to talk about? At her response, Soren could have groaned out his own stupidity. How could he talk about joining Puddlemere United when Bellatrix Lestrange had her own designs on the future of the Wizarding World?
"Oh, right, an auror." He said, chuckling stupidly and rubbing the back of his neck. "That's probably, you know, a better idea..." he trailed off. Okay, well now Soren felt like a giant prat...

Soren's crack on settling for the Chudley Cannons pulled a light chuckle from her. He was in the right, the team was, after all, really horrid for a professional one. His comment had also brought an image swimming up from the back of her memories.. the expression Al's uncle Ron wore anytime he heard someone taking the mickey out of his team.
Taking in his reaction to her plans to be an Auror.. she grinned and gave him an affectionately soft nudge with her own shoulder to his before reaching down to lace her fingers in those of his own free hand. Her eyes hued to a subdued gold as she looked up at him, a little nervous and hoping she wasn't making a mistake by being the one to make this first effort at contact...
" There's nothing wrong with fallowing your dreams Soren. I didn't mean to make you feel your plans weren't good enough, I for one would be bloody mortified if all the teams quit to take up jobs that were 'more important' by others standards. And I'm sure their are tons of others who feel the same way, Quidditch makes people feel good, gets their mind off things, those that play it help everyone in their own way..... All I meant was that for me personally, it might be better to go that other route... "

Soren appreciated the reassurance, but still, in light of the current situation with the Dark Lady, Soren couldn't help but feel as if he was still being a bit thick.
Rory laced her fingers with his, and with a smile, Soren held her hand. He turned to her, listening to her backtrack, explain that she only meant... He smiled again, a softer smile. He knew what she was trying to say, and was grateful she was saying it. But, at the moment, it seemed Soren's mind was elsewhere...
Rory's eyes went gold again, and Soren actually put two and two together. Her hand was nervous in his at first, so it would only make sense that this yellow eye color meant the same thing. Soren found that... incredibly cute, and wanted nothing more than to take her in his arms, nerves and all. In fact... Acting on impulse, Soren did just that.
He didn't say anything because Soren knew he was lousy when it came to this kind of stuff. He didn't want to say anything stupid to ruin the moment... now he was over analyzing this. He chuckled at himself and his thoughts, and leaned down, burying his face in Rory's hair.
Taking the chance anyway, Soren whispered. "How about we just not worry about it at all?" He smiled softly and brought his lips to meet hers.

Soren had returned her hand hold and turned to face her, though as she tried to think of what else she could say to mend his feeling awkward she caught sight of his eyes. Her words died on her lips.. he was starring at her so..intently.. what was with that? He was smiling, so he couldn't be upset with her.. Rory's heart lept up a tempo as Soren wrapped her in his warm arms, as the older boys head came down and his lips mumbled words into her hair she tried to swallow the small knot that had formed in her throat so she could answer him.. bloody hell, was he going to..?
" umm.. sounds good..."
The bundle of nerves she had become caused a light quiver in her voice and it dawned on her that her eyes must be practically glowing by now..As Soren dipped his head to press his lips gently against her own she felt her nerves quill, replaced by a warm flush that doused the color of her eyes and brought them back to her regular shade. The kiss was warm and gentle and, by Merlin she be willing to guess it wasn't his first kiss even if it was hers. Drawn to him by an odd new warmth he had awakened in her, she slowly lifted unsure hands and wrapped then round his neck, her own lips taking lessons and moving in sink for some moments before finally she felt she'd have to pull back to catch her breath, though she did so reluctantly.. Laying her forehead against his own she dropped her gaze shyly from his and whispered..
" that was.. umm..."
An all to pleased smile spread across her lips showing exactly what she had thought about the moments that had just passed between them.

Soren sighed happily, inwardly chuckling at Rory's inexperience. He had to lead her through the kiss, though he didn't mind in the slightest. She was a quick learner anyway, he noticed, and he smiled against her as her hands rested on his neck. Soren threaded his fingers in her red hair, hands feeling the softness of the strands.
Rory pulled back and muttered happily, resting her forehead on his. Soren laughed quietly and dropped his hands to hold hers. His eyes searched her face hungrily; he never took the time before to realize how... (sappy as this sounds) beautiful her face was. Her eyes seem to sparkle and when she blushed it only made her look more alive. Soren had to bite his tongue to stop himself from kissing her again...
Screw that he thought, smiling again and leaning in to kiss her softly on the neck. His right hand rested on her hip and he kissed her jaw at the tender part under her ear. He could feel the heat from her blush against his cheek...
Soren was no longer aware that anyone else was even outside with them.
