Mathew is the type of bad guy people are afraid of, because he’s the type that acts charming and sweetly towards his enemies. Only to go and stab them in the back when they turn around. He shows friendliness towards someone when he knows he can gain something from them. Looking at his history people wouldn’t really imagine for such a charming child to join Dolohov. What caused him to have such a change on his life? The easiest way to put it, Mathew is kind of insane. He above other things is a manipulative jerk. He holds no remorse toward hurting others if it will get him what he wants. He always seems to know exactly what to say to others and can manipulate them into seen things his own way. He also feels lots of grudges toward muggles & muggle borns, most of the time without an actual reason.

Mathew also likes his privacy and hates when people disturb him. Even though he tends to be loud and cheerful, people have a hard time reading him. He enjoys playing around and people enjoy his humor. But when it comes to relationships he puts barriers between himself and others. Even as a child he was never able to trust many people. Having been brought up without even the simple knowledge about who his father is, made him resentful towards his mother. Thought he would never hate her, after having joined Dolohov he began to distance himself from her. Why bother to have a close relationship with someone that has kept hidden that information from you?

Mathew has always been a supporter of the dark arts and he feels very passionate about the, this is something that not many people know about. He is also ironically well informed about muggle history and culture. This is why the position of Professor of Muggle Studies was given to him in Hogwarts. No one really knows why he studied a subject he detested so much (thought his hate for them is not known outside the Death eaters). He tends to be a bit sarcastic without really knowing it or trying. One of the things that sometimes gets on peoples’ nerves. He’s also strict when it comes to his students. Discipline is something he expects from everyone. Even though his subject is not the most respected, while in class most students tend to be a bit afraid of him.

Not all is bad about him though. Mathew is well known for his loyalty. The moment Antonin Dolohov took him in, Mathew promised his loyalty to the man. Because of his work he doesn’t do much field work, but the other Death eaters respect his leadership when he does. Many see it as impressive that he made it to the Inner Circle at quite the young age and has proven himself many times since then.

Mathew arrived to Hogwarts like any other first year. He was filled with excitement and wonder. Not really sure what to expect, but somehow knowing that it would be great and amazing. He was placed in Ravenclaw and he was happy with it. To be precise he never really had a favorite house and whichever house would have made him happy. He doesn’t believe in the placement of house and the stereotypes that come with them. History has demonstrated them to be wrong. Not been to open and talkative at 5that age it took some time for Mathew to make friends. But those he did made were ones he could trust and be close with. Thought he never fully trusted anyone with all his secrets.

His first year went pretty uneventful compared to his childhood. He was around during the second rise of Voldemort and in comparison the ones that followed, were boring on his eyes. Since he had knowledge he loved to be around excitement, reading tales of adventure and sometimes witnessing some. But things after the war were quiet. No one dared to start a stir and he found that to be boring. Of course Mathew was smart enough not to cause much trouble himself, but he was ready to give others ideas if they needed them. Most of his time in Hogwarts, he worked behind the curtain. If his fellow students were caught, the pranks were tracked back to him. He had the ability and a charm that allowed him to manipulate others into trusting him. He only trusted on those he knew wouldn’t betray him.

In the end he was able to cause small stirrings in the school, while keeping a good image in front of his professors. Since an early age he had a love for books and knowledge that helped him in classes. His good leadership qualities helped him become a Prefect during his fifth year and later Head Boy. When it came time for him to leave Hogwarts he was given the opportunity to work a small job in the Ministry, something he declined. Mathew never cared much to work for the government, even if it was something small. He preferred instead to begin traveling once more. He began to do jobs here and there to sustain him. He also had some family money saved in case of an emergency, enough to maintain him for life.

During these travels Mathew came into contact with a distant relative. Said relative had been a follower of Voldemort. Mathew had traveled to Germany, place where he had been born but had spent very little time in. During his stay he had accidentally heard the Greengrass name and by luck a conversation had begun between the two. Michel Greengrass had moved to Germany after the fall of Voldemort, he had been unknown to the Ministry and they never bothered to search for him. But out of precaution and safety he had stayed away from them. It was Michel who led him into contact with Antonin Dolohov himself. The Death Eater was collecting potential followers in the country. The operation was underground and only a few trusted ones knew of it. Thus his life as a Death Eater began.

Mathew began to prove himself as a valuable member quickly. He had trusted friends that he knew would enjoy joining the cause. He wasn’t afraid to take any mission that Dolohov would give him. Contacting creatures that others would view bellow them, but could be useful if the time for war came. Soon he was a active member, trusted enough to be part of the Inner Circle. Dolohov took the part of the father he never had and Mathew began to learn from him everything he could. By the time he turned twenty-seven Mathew took the biggest mission he could have imagined.

Hogwarts had lost it’s Muggle Studies professors. A position that had taken the place of DADA in bad luck
