Well this wee I finish my exams, Tuesday is my last day actualy. Unfortunately like I told the other staff members during July I won't be around at all. I will be gone for the entire month in a family vacation.
Like I previously mentioned I had some big family problems. Things are a lot more relaxed now but I frankly don't have any Harry Potter muse at all. I'm actually doing a writing project and it is the only thing I seem to have muse(not even graphics which is rare.
I could easily work on the site in the two weeks I'll have free, but I don't think I'll be up to it. I think I need to re-read those books and maybe even watch the films to get my Potter muse back, but right now is just not there.
There is also very little or not activity going on. To get the site moving it needs a lot of job, lots of advertising and people posting and working around. Since I just don't have the time to do that I'm currently putting this site to the back.
So the point of this rant is that if anyone wants to work on the site I'll gladly work something out with them. I'll be happy to lend a hand with things. So yeah if anyone wants to take over just PM me.
As for me once I get back and have more time I'll probably start a new project with the original idea I had(I posted this idea a while back) and probbaly start from 0.

I've been terribly busy and exhausted, and I'm only just getting back on some semblance of a regular schedule. I don't want to give up on this place, but I guess maybe we can have a bit of a hiatus in the meantime?
I am willing to do some site maintence, starting with fixing the canon list, but I don't really have the patience for advertising. I don't really know what else needs fixing, but I don't mind doing a lot of it.

I'm also thinking a hiatus would help, at least until I get back from my vacation and thankful I'll be able to work on the site.
Actually I was thinking about re-writing the site plot into something more student centered. Even move it back to when Al/Rose/Scorpius were in their 5th year so some of the older cousin are still in Hogwarts.
So instead of Death Eaters/The Order having it out, there would be more student houses/family/groups oriented. Right now with activity bringing a big site plot is useless because no one is really participating.
Unfortunate for Lucy and myself this means no Lestranges, unless they come froma different line other than Rod and Rab. Frankly I'm not even sure, so if anyone has any idea feel free to tell me.

A hiatus will give us time to think about what we should do... but I think it would be a great idea to overhaul the plot... no offence I think its a brilliant plot but perhaps a different approach would be a fun idea... really work a house family oriented... Astoria would love her little boy at a managable age... haha Have you thought of possibly doing some kind of time crash? Those are popular sites..

Kath I did another thread on the announcement board if you haven't seen it.
Yeah, the most important thing would be to think of a good strong plot.
Yes, a younger and less angsty Scorpius is what I need. Also after looking at his profile without Bellatrix in his history I think he'll fit better in Ravenclaw. Plus that house always ends up lacking members(I won't even mention Hufflepuff). I will try to keep Draco and Lucy, but everyone else may end up gone.
I try to stay away from those sites because I believe they can end up confusing. Plus only few people can make them work without it coming as a complete crazy time paradox fanfic from hell. Maybe is just my Doctor Who fan self that is terrified of how dangerous and confusing things would get.

I am still about Annie.
In the past with moderation, often when I was handed a community that had grown somewhat stagnant I would try and design a plot that every single player could relate to and participate in. Even if it is something as linear as a new or "reinvented" baddie to bring people towards a common goal.
Main line plots to boost activity do not require complicated lines of thought, merely the aim of creating something fun! That is what this is all about anyway , a group of individuals having fun together.
So I would suggest that we keep something of the old plot and simply up the 'anti'. Give students a taste of what it was like in the books, and equally give those outside the schools something to fight for (regardless of the side they are on)
Whether you choose Reg to be the antagonist or a new NPC make it magnificent and execute it on a grand scale. Perhaps make a slight time jump to Halloween, and have something absolutely brilliant and horrifying happen at the school, something that would ripple outwards into the entirety of wizardry society. (And even draw the attention of the muggles)
These are only suggestions, and I am trying to keep away from specific details since that is the bread and butter of the mod team.
But I think the main jest of my ramble is the suggestion to bring the thrill of the books to life on this site. Be flashy, dangerous ,frightening and glorious all in one moment, and be sure that no character feels safe.

That's what I'm thinking about doing. A plot that will focus around Hogwarts, but will extend to adults too. Kind of what we did when we opened, that we had something big happen in the school that affected everyone.
I'm thinking about having a new baddie. With Regulus I wanted to have him turn everyone against each other. Work in the shadows in Hogwarts and in the Wizard world. Which is what I wanted Raiden to do in Hogwarts with the students. But to make this work there has to be an equal amount of members for both sides of the battle. I couldn't do much with reg and the DEs because there really weren't that many DEs in the site.
Which brings me to a possible new baddie. Maybe a less know family name would be able to help. Is a bit hard to work in secrecy with a name like the Lestranges. I'm actually looking at an old profile I have for Antonin Dolohov which I may work with that one of Regulus. But again to make a baddie work I need to have more people on his side.
Suggest away, this is what I want.

Alrighty, well I always like to work backwards when I create new Antagonists, start with their actions and behavior and look from there towards finding the right character. So what could this baddie do that would shake the wizarding world? I think perhaps again a look to the past would be both terrifying and equally fun for the players themselves.
In reality, and certainty on TV you have seen crime dramas where there are "look alike" killers who mimic a serial killer's MO. I think it might be really enjoyable to do something similar here. What if we had an antagonist mimicking the actions of Voldemort throughout all of the books "seeking a magical sorcerers stone -We can sub in a different but equally rare/elixir 'like item for this/ perhaps something "like" the chamber of secrets emerges...etc" After those at the school begin to make connections, along with those out in the world itself, I would think it would send the entirety of the wizardry community into a panic. So all the while the school is fighting with a oddly similar re-emergence of the "dark lord" you have the ministry flailing about trying to get to the bottom of this, and the main population wrapped up in chaos.
I think this level of wide spread panic would be one of the goals of our new baddie. Panic turns people essentially into herd animals, bolting at the faintest suggestion of a wolf in their midst. Perhaps out new antagonist seeks something of what Voldemort did, to break down and take over the ministry and put the magical world under his power, all the while laying the decoy that his aim is the students of Hogwarts.
I think perhaps once we decide on the antagonist's actions and aim can we choose the right person to get the job done.
If we used Antonin, do you think he would be a bit deranged due to his devotion to Tom Riddle since he was one of his first followers.? Or simply clever enough and devoted to the ideals that his former friend and master preached. Basically could Antonin be, 1.) Motivated to bring this all about. And 2.) Does he have the mental capacity and capability to make such events transpire. Also in the way of gaining followers perhaps he would be the right figure that would draw people in towards his view on how the ministry, and the world itself should be run.
Again I am just rambling lol But have at it. Just throwing in my two cents.

I like he idea of a copycat. While working on Scorpius application I tried to think of ideas.
Mainly for things to go back a few years when they started to go up. Like small pranks toward muggles that the Ministry fixed quickly. But since two years back things began to get more violent. Muggles and muggle-borns were getting violent threats and even some people were injured. But things take a turn when one or more families are found dead and the Dark Mark is left behind.
That's when think would pick up in the site. People are terrified and not really trusting anyone. Families like the Malfoys and anyone that had even the smallest connection to Voldemort and his Death Eaters are watched all the time. There is a wave of distrust between everyone. Going as far as some people taking their children from Hogwarts.
That means that adults are going to be worried now that someone has died and the students in Hogwarts are also going to be worried. Specially with everyone trying to pick teams. Then taking your idea maybe for an actual fight in Hogwarts to break up during Halloween between the students. Maybe even have the bad guy have some followers in Hogwarts write negative messages around the school before the Halloween feast to have people become more afraid and tense.
I think he may have it. Specially since the Order has some personal connection against him. He stood against the Order in both Wars and even killed Lupin. It wouldn't just be a random guy they're fighting against. He will have cleverness mixed with a bit of insanity that will make him more dangerous.
The hard part will be to find someone that will be devoted to the plot enough to keep the character interesting and active. It will be a major role. I mean Reggie didn't had the chance to do much and he was still a headache. This was also the problem that we had with Bellatrix. I had to make Regulus the main bad guy because our Bella disappeared and thyen no one really dared to take such a major character.
