OVERALL PERSONALITY: Rory still clings in some ways to her childhood as a devoted tom boy. Though she's gotten a bit more 'girly' over the past year and summer..(ok she at least bothers to 'look' in the mirror before heading out of the dorms, Al might be down there after all) She'd rather be on a broom playing Quidditch than in a store shopping for clothes and her idea of fun involves the occasional prank, Quidditch, adventures around Hogwarts with Al and mayhem in general rather than makeup and gossip (though the occasional juicer tidbit might catch her interest, but com'on, even the guys get involved in THOSE rumors). She loves her father and her siblings, though her dad can be a bit over baring at times in his quest to 'bring out the lady' in her. Sometimes she wishes she could slip Laney some age potion so that he could focus on the daughter that was remotely interested in the whole ribbons and lace set. Her mum is a rather soar subject for her (described in greater detail further down)
At school shes very out going and rather easy for people to get along with, as long as you don't mess with her friends..or her house.. or annoy her.. ok.. so 'mayyybe' she has a temper to match her hair, but she does try to keep it in check unless there's a good reason for showing it. Is it her fault if those reasons seem to arise fairly regularly?
All in all her personality is rather up beat, she's an exceptionally hyper child who tends to have a disregard for personal safety on nearly a subconscious level. She's not that way on purpose, it's just with so many thoughts running thorough her over active mind most of the time its like she often fails to skip ahead and think about the consequences. Instead simply acting on the idea that seems the most reasonable 'to her' at that particular moment. Her logic is what some would call flawed, but which actually simply marches to it's own,extremely unique, drum beat. A fact her best friend/boyfriend Al seems to realize and yet lucky for her sticks by her and always seems to be there to keep her from the worst of her self inflicted mishaps.
Having inherited her mothers metamorphmagi gene, but not having had her mother guidance through her younger years of the ability (her mother stopped attempting to teach her beyond learning to change the color of her nails at age five or six), Rory was a bit of a mess when it came to that part of herself until recently. She's often lacked confidence in trying different morphs.. fearing failure and either becoming stuck in some exceptionally embarrassing way at school, or doing the same at home. Thanks to the past tutelage of her ever patient Morphing teacher Teddy, and the constant encouragement she received from Al, her confidence has increased a great deal over the past year and summer. One might say almost to much as shes now prone to trying the occasional overly difficult morph which has and will no doubt continue to land her in more than one awkward situation.

Her hair tends to range from her typical unmorped straight red mane to a layered look of multiple hues of mixed natural hair tones including reds, golds and even a bit of white streaks. On the typical day she simply goes as far as to make sure its brushed out before rushing off to class or the pitch, even her dedication here is more due to Al (what girl dosn't want to at least look 'decent' around their guy?) than it is any devotion to all things girly. Spending time styling it or fooling with make up is a rather rare occurrence for the once avid tomboy who's only just started testing the waters of anything remotely girly, though she's more likely to do so now than ever in the past. who'd have ever thought her best mate, the boy who'd seen her through all her tomboyish glory days, would turn out to be the key to her testing the waters in such areas. Regardless..you still never catch her willingly wearing anything Pink or frilly. As far as dress, comfort is a domineering factor when it comes to anything she dawns.. if it's not pink, and it's comfortable (this rules out dresses and skirts..which are just..yeah..awkward?) then it's wearable.. though she'd be just as content to live in Quidditch robes.. it would save her the trouble of changing into them in the morning. Seeing as her parents would frown on that idea though.. you'll often find her in tank tops and tee shirts as well as jeans and shorts. Its not uncommon for the color schemes of her outfits to fail in a rather brilliant way on matching though her personality, and the fact that her dorm and class mates are simply use to it, allows her to pull the look off without much in the way of comments.

OVERALL HISTORY: Born on February the fourteenth, Rory's father had been sure that the date his daughter was born on had significance. He assumed it was an omen that the angelic little girl he had been waiting for would grow into a mild and sweet daughter complete with ribbons and lace. He was partially right.. about the being sweet at least.. when she wanted to be anyway. Usually though she spent her days while growing up in the country, climbing trees and pulling harmless, completely non magical pranks down in the village of Ottery St. Catchpole. She had discovered, by the age of eight that it was entirely possible to make a garbage can spew its guts and take off from the ground like a Quidditch player with only the use of one small muggle invention called a cherry bomb. When Rory's two siblings, the twins, had come along, two little blonds like their father who unlike Rory hadn't shown any signs of having inherited their mothers metamorphmagi ability's. She had been looking forward to having siblings and as a result has been a rather dotting and protective big sis to the two. Though as Laney gets older each year and a bit more girly Rory often finds it hard to relate to her in some ways.
On reaching the age of eleven she received her letter and headed off to Hogwarts, where after sorting she met Albus Potter. Having lived near some of the Potter's kin must have, at some point over the years, enlightened the Blake's to the fact that the whole of their family simply wanted to be able to live in peace and raise their kids in a comfortable and normal setting. Respectful of this fact, the Blake children, while they had heard the Potter and Weasley names mentioned in casual conversation, read about their accomplishments in books, had not been brought up to idolize the hero's for what they were. So when Rory first met Al he was simply a nice guy that was willing to talk to a scared first year on her first night in an entirely new place. Since befriending Al, Rory has had an entirely new out look on what 'fun' there is to be had on holidays and in the summer. Shes traded in her cherry bombs for a whole new array of pranks and adventurers with Al and his extended family at the burrow not to far from her own home. And any time shes given the chance shes in the mix whenever the family has a Quidditch match going on.The times she spent with him and his family, in a magical setting where she could have fun and at the same time completely be herself were something that she's been forever thankful for. Since Al taught her to fly in her first year shes been on a broom at every opportunity and even plays the position of beater on their house team. The two have grown very close over the years and share just about every thing with each other, he's really become a friend that she feels she couldn't live without. Which is why she'd been rather ill at herself since the end of her fourth year. She'd found herself seeing Al in a whole new light and she had been actually rather disgusted and angry with herself over the fact. She'd wanted to stab her mutinous stomach every time it fliped or fluttered when he smiled. And the urges she developed that had her wanting to lean into him instead of shoving him over or off the couch while watching a movie at her house had left her out of sorts. She had absolutely no intentions of encouraging these feelings she'd seen as potential friendship killers. Though to her dismay they had continued to grow getting more and more frequent as time went by instead of going away. Shortly before Christmas she had a few weeks of insanity in which Al had made it clear through his actions that his feelings for her were growing as well, she briefly considered letting the feelings bloom.. though a series of events wrapped around his gift of a kiss on Christmas Eve brought her back to 'in her current way of thinking' reality. Dating him would risk their friendship if things didn't work out..it was a risk she was to afraid to take. Al eventually wore her down with his patient persistance and fallowing a rather emotional night by the black lake the two bave since begun dateing.
Being a year younger than Al and therefore not having the same classes Rory of course developed other strong friendships as well, though none quite on the level as the one shared with her best mate. One such friendship is with a sandy haired boy in her own year, Rick Myers. She often works on class projects with him and gets into mischief with the bloke when Al's occupied with other obligations. Recently shes come to realize that Rick's interest has grown to be a bit more than general friendship.. which is to bad as the feelings are definitely not mutual... Hes nice and all, not bad looking either shes just ..well, not into him like that.. which isn't to surprising considering what shes got going with Al.
Another person that plays a big part in Rory's life is Al's little sister Lily. A year behind Rory, the girl has always seemed to look up to Rory and thrive on taking part in and modeling after her pranking, mischief making ways. Rory loves the girl as she does her own kid sister Laney and does her best to look after her while trying not to warp her to badly.. emphasis on the 'try' Rory is who she is after all. The two of them recently discovered a unicorn foal in the forbidden forest that's mother had been mysteriously killed by the bullet of a muggle gun..a fact that has been kept between the few involved in the incident..the girls, Hagrid whom is now caring for the foal with the help of the kids, and Al whom Rory dragged down to the forest on finding the foals mother dead. The Order was of course informed, by way of an Owl from Al.
Early in her fifth year she began dating the captain of her house Quidditch team, Soren Finnigan. Rory grew to care a great deal for Soren though had yet to be able to shake the still upsetting feelings she'd been having for Al. Eventually her friendship with Al and the strong bond they share, something she stubbornly saw as nothing more than deep friendship, but which was obviously more in Soren's eyes, led to his breaking things off. All of this of course taking place prior to the weeks leading up to the Christmas kiss incident and Al and Rory's current dateing status.
Christmas morning last year brought with it a terrible and life altering shock for the young metamorphmagus. Planning to surprise her mum for Christmas with how well shed managed to gain control over the morphing of her hair and the progress she'd made in other areas of her ability, she'd headed home after staying Christmas Eve at the Burrow. What she walked into at home was arguing, and when she, and shortly after her younger brother Jale, peaked around the corner to their parents room intent on finding out 'why' their parents were at odds (they just 'didn't' often fight..not that she was aware of at any rate) she'd been witness to her mothers claiming that she and her siblings were mistakes, that marrying her dad had been a mistake,..and the accidental revealing of her mothers dark mark on her arm right before the woman apparated out of the room and their lives. At least Rory hopes so at any rate.. while some small part of her that she rather detests still misses her mum (or rather the mum she use to be long ago) , for the most part she wants the woman to stay away from her father and siblings and out of their lives all together.
