OVERALL PERSONALITY: How to describe Hermione Ganger? Let me count the ways...
One of the first traits that pops into ones mind is smart. That goes, hands down, without saying. Other traits? Well Hermione can have bursts of...anger, and sometimes can/will hold a grudge against someone...or send birds flying at them...*ahem* now, where was I. Ah yes, Hermione is also loyal, helpful, courageous and finally filled with a huge heart.
Hermione is more then just smart, some would say she was brilliant. Before she had even arrived at Hogwarts, our miss Hermione had already taught herself to do a few simple spells, and was ready to go...more ready then the Pureblood students. By her 2nd year she could brew a Polyjuice potion, and by her 5th year was already using spells that were NEWT level. On many occasions, people comment on Hermione's brains, calling her the smartest witch of her year. Snape has also called her "an insufferable know-it-all"and in sheer contrast, Hagrid has told the trio that "They haven't invented a spell that our Hermione can't do." This proves that Hermione's knowledge is something that many people haven't seen in a lifetime..
Her anger. Sometimes this gets out of control. She has sent hoards of angry birds flying at people, and as also punched Malfoy in the face. He had it coming in her opinion. This anger, though, is put to good use when she is casting spells, dueling, or fighting with someone. However, sometimes it gets out of hand, and wont leave her for hours, or days on end. If you get Hermione upset enough though, you will find that she will be quite cold, and snappy with you. This is one of her grudges. Someone has probably said something to offend her, or make her upset. Only she--most of the time--knows what the person said and is usually the one that will break the grudge, and forgive the person, simply because it would never end since they didn't understand or know what they did wrong.
Loyal, helpful and courageous. Simple enough, almost all traits of a Gryffindor. Hermione has been loyal to her friends since the start of their first year. Right away they stuck up a bond that couldn't be broken from the moment it started. Through all the ups and downs, she has been there and has helped them to stick together. Courage is a big thing when it comes to facing Slytherins daily who make fun of you because your parents are not wizards, or you don't look the same as everyone else. It takes this kind of courage to stand up for--not only herself--but others. Hermione is ALWAYS trying to help Ron and Harry with their homework, along with anyone else who asks for her help. Mainly Gryffindors and a few Hufflepuffs, never Slytherins and rarely Ravenclaws. She is always willing to help them and always tries to make things...easier for them to understand.
A huge heart to match her huge mind. From her third year, Hermione was already trying to make things better in the world. She bought her cat Crookshanks, because no one wanted him. This was only the first time that her heart caused trouble between her and Ron. Another one was when S.P.E.W was formed. Hermione found out about the treatment of house elves and wanted to free all the ones that worked in the Hogwarts kitchens. Ron and Harry however...poked some fun at it. This is still something that Hermione cares about and is still working hard towards. Doesn't help matters when Dobby took all of the things she knit for himself...but she still loved him.
There are many more things that shape Miss Hermione, but these are the common ones that have helped her to become the young woman she is today.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION: Hermione can often be found moving around the office in an upscale busness outfit. Much like the Hogwarts uniform in the crispness and the look of the outfit, ready to speak to anyone that she must with an air of importance. However, when she gets home, she is often walking around in a pair of jeans and a long sleeve sweater, trying to relax. If you are able to catch her late at night or early in the morning, she will probably be wearing one of Ron's huge Canon t-shirts, or one of his large maroon jumpers.
Hermione has never found herself attractive, and for a while that was a point that bothered her. However, she has discovered that the one person who has always mattered finds her beautiful and that is enough for her. Since that realization that there are features about her that people like, she had become a lot more accepting of her over al looks. There is still a tendency to brush off comments of her looks, and to try and push everything aside, but it has become less of an impluse as she pushed past forty.
The mother's skin is a lot drier then it was when she was younger and for that reason, she has been using a lot of muggle and magical products to try and ease the rough look. Likewise, she has been noticing wrinkles coming on her face and has been using magic to cover them up as well.
Over all, not much has changed from the school age young woman. She is still the same looking, though there is a new air of maturity about her that adds to the different look.

OVERALL HISTORY:
On September 19th, 1979 the cries of a baby girl rang out. Her mother lay pale faced on the bed, her hair spread out, sweat covering her face. Beside her stood the child's father, holding onto his wife's hand with a smile. Their little girl. From the moment they brought her home days later, they knew that she was special. Hermione Jean Granger, the daughter of two dentists--Mr. and Mrs. Granger. In their daughters eyes they saw how smart she was, and that she would one day make something of herself. They didn't know how true they were.
Growing up, Hermione was just like any other muggle child. She played with the other children at the park and loved her parents and family dearly. Hermione--by age 9--was already starting to show difference that none of the other children had. When she threw a fit in at home or at school, things would happen. Something would fly across the room without anyone moving it, and other things would break without anything happening to them. Her parents became worried about it at first, but then just blamed it on chance and pushed the thought from their mind. At the time, Hermione's two front teeth were showing problems for her, and by the time she turned 9 and started grade 3, she was wearing braces.
At age 11, Hermione's life changed in two ways. The first was that her braces were replaced with a retainer that she would wear until she was about 13. The second was more shocking. The reason to all of the things that had happened as a child finally made sense now. A knock on the door in the summer of 1990 put everything into place. As an owl flew through the door of the house, Hermione and her mother tried to get it out. When a letter dropped from it, her and her family were surprised to read;
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Ms Granger,
We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl no later then 31 July.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
Was it some kind of joke? That was the reaction of all the muggles in the room. Finally, the odd looking man explained who he was and that their daughter--Hermione--was in fact a witch. He talked to them about everything she would learn and that no one other then the three in the room would know anything about this school nor of Hermione's powers. They agreed and that was the beginning of a new start. They went shopping and got all of her things for Hogwarts and then finally on September 1st, saw her off to Hogwarts.
Ah Hogwarts. The train ride there was when she would first meet her fellow classmates, including Ronald and Harry. In fact she got a chance to show off some of the magic she had learned, and laugh at Ron's fake attempt at a spell. When she arrived at the school, she was amazed but keep her wits about her and reasoned that the sky wasn't really there but it was a spell. The sorting hat--after much deliberation between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor--finally placed her into Gryffindor, along with her friends.
The years went by and her friendship with her peers built up, but more began building for a certain red-head Gryffindor. Then came their third year. Everything that she had built up with Ron, all her feelings for him, came crashing down. They fought. Not a simple few day fight, one that lasted much longer and cut much deeper. Thankfully, Harry helped them both through it and helped them to become friends once again. Good old Harry, always helping his friends. Too bad it didn't last as long as they would have hoped.
With the start of their 4th year came new crushes and students.
The Triwizard Tournament. 4th year. A year of changes for the 4 year old Hermione Granger. On their first day back at school, they found out about the Tournament, and everyone was excited to be the hosts. Two other school--Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. From the start, all of the boys--including Ron--of Hogwarts take a liking to the girls from Beauxbatons. Hermione however, found herself the apple of Victor Krums eye. This shocked her but also helped her come out of her shell. While Ron was fawning over Fleur Delacour, she was spending her time with Victor Krum. She did feel bad at times, knowing that she was trying to make Ron jealous. However, she did like Victor and knew that after this she wouldn't see him again. The night of the ball was the worst thing in her life. Ron actually made her break down and cry, right on the stairs. Now she thought that he meant nothing to her anymore, but that wasn't true. She still liked him. A good memory that happened in her 4th year came just after the second challenge. When they were sitting waiting for the others to come back up, Hermione sat with Victor talking quietly. Her hair was soaked and she had a towel wrapped around her. That was the moment. He had leaned in and kissed her. It was slow and gentle, but the passion was behind it. For moments Hermione didn't move, simply kissed him back. Finally she pulled back and looked up at him, her eyes shining happily. Her first kiss. She smiled up at him. After this they had met a few more times just to sit with each other, but Hermione never let it past a minute at the most for one of their kisses. She didn't want to lead him on that much... at the end of the year when he left, they promised to write, but soon lost contact. Once again she stuck up her love for Ron and has never told anyone what her and Victor had shared.
5th year. Another year of ups and downs for the trio. Ih the summer before the school year, she was notified that she had been made a prefect. Upon hearing this she was more then excited, though it faded slightly when she found that Draco Malfoy had also been chosen as a prefect. Hermione started S.P.E.W in this year. She wanted to help free the house elves, but Ron--mostly--thought that this was a stupid idea. This cause problems between them. However, this is only the beginning of all their problems.
When 6th year approaches, and the Slug Club is formed, things get worse. To get even with Hermione, Ron ends up going out with Lavander Brown. This tears apart the 16 teen year old, and unleashes a kind of hate that she hadn't realised that she had before. In this year she sent a hord of angry birds flying at him to express her anger. However, by the end of the year, her angry left once again with the death of their beloved Headmaster, a luck potion and a battle. Thoughout this, she was able to see that her angry was pointless and watched happily as Won-won and Lav-lav ended things.
Finally in her seventh year, she didn't attend school. Instead she went to help Harry and Ron find the parts of Voldemorts soul. This had many ups and downs, almost a moment where she felt like she was about to face death. After being in the hands of Bellatrix, she was sure that her time had come. Yet thanks to Fleur and Bill, her life was saved and everything started to go well once again. During the final battle of good and bad, she experienced her first kiss with the boy she had always loved--Ron. While it might not have been the best time, she was more then happy to know that if she died, she would be happy. So they faught. Somehow all of them managed to survive, while loved ones were taken away--Remus, Tonks and Fred among the many--and it was a time full of sorrow.
After this, Hermione decided against going to join Shacklebot's Minsitry with her two best friends. She had promised her parents that she was going to go and complete her schooling properly. That lead to a number of fights between her and Ron. He didn't want to leave her alone, but he had been accepted into his Auror training, and would be gone most of the time anyways. They faught until she left in September and then seemed to have made up. However, there was some mixed signals and it ended up in the two of them shouting at each other in the middle of the Three Broomsticks right before Christmas. Needless to say, Hermione went home to her parents that Christmas, for the first time in years.
After she had finished school, she had worked around in the muggle world before finally going to work at the Minsitry. She started as some runner for the higher-ups, but that worked out well. She ran into Ron one afternoon and they seemed to have been on speaking terms. With some help from Harry and Ginny, they were back together in no time at all. At the wedding of her two best friends, she wondered if she was ever going to have that kind of moment. After all, it had taken Ron seven years to ask her on a proper date, and that was only after she had thrown herself at him for a snog.
After a number of months of blissful dating, Ron finally popped the question and she spent weeks planning with Ginny--who was expecting James already--and Molly Weasley. They had figured out everything to fit the old say; something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue. That was something that her mother had always been adament about. The wedding went off without a hitch and was something that she had always dreamed of. It wasn't a huge affair, as most of her muggle family couldn't come. It would just have too many questions to be answered. It was just better that it was her family and the Weasley's family. A beautiful spring wedding that reminded her of every fairytale she had ever read. She felt like a princess on that day and couldn't forget a moment of it.
The Weasley men were known for being able to have children as quick as anything. Yet, for some reason, Hermione couldn't get pregnant. They tried everything muggle and magical. There was just no way about any of it. Everytime that they tired and waited hopefully, they were let down again and again. After almost thirteen attempts, the stress got to be too much. After a particularly long fight, in which Hermione went home to her parents, they had a through make up shag. A few weeks later, she got morning sickness and BAM. They had finally been able to concieve the baby that they had been waiting for. Nine months was the longest amount of time that she had ever been through. Working in the Department for the Regulation and Control fo Magical creatures didn't help matters much. She was constantly fighting for the house-elves that she loved so much and for other creatures that couldn't speak for themselves. She was trying to bridge gaps with people who were rude and didn't care, filled with cravings, pain and hormones.
Finally, the healthy little girl was born. Rose. The perfect name for the baby that came out so pink and beautiful. After two years with their beautiful little girl, they were pregnant once again. This time, they gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, with flaming red hair. It was the old Weasley tradition and she couldn't believe how lucky they were. The perfect family and the perfect way to end school-age dreams. Everything had come out just the way that she wanted.
Just before her youngest child went to Hogwarts--almost five years ago now-- Hermione chose to move from her current Department to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, where Harry and Ron both worked as Aurors, so that she could bring about another big change; an end to the pure-blood laws that were so ingrained in the Wizarding World. It was her newst mission after taking in one of the Malfoy children--a girl that was rather sweet and kind, especially with her Rosie--to change the way things had been. She had a constant reminder about what could happen if one forgot that. All she had to do was look at her arm and remember most of her past.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:
This is an example of an intro I have used. The role play was the morning after the final battle. Ron had posted before hand, So I wasn't power-playing him.** This is also on the shorter side of my post lengths**
Silence. Not even the wind dared to move, the trees were still. The sun rose slowly into the sky, the orange red light falling over everything, truly unmasking the damage done to the school. The orange and red light. It almost mocked them, and everything they had been through and lost. The blood shed by all those who had fought, all those who had died trying to bring about peace. Tonks and Lupin would never get to see their son grow up now. Colin Creevey would never get to live his life out, or take pictures anymore. Fifty others, died that night fighting for freedom, fighting for Harry. Fred. A smile on his face, laughing until the end. That bloody wall, and the stupid Deatheater that shot the spell that missed. How was that fair?! How could his life be taken from him and his family so quickly? Not even a hero’s death, but a bloody wall falling on him. He was a hero though... in everything that he did he died a hero.
Tears made little spots on the ground. An endless flow started, and she wasn’t able to stop them. Hermione Granger’s face was streaked with dirt, blood, sweat and now tears. She lay on the ground near the lake, sobbing. Everything had happened so quickly...why had they lived when so many others had died?! Harry had even died, he had gotten a chance to be free, and see those who had died for him...but he came back. None of the others would ever get that chance to come back. How fair was that?! Fred wasn’t even her family, her family was safe from all of this. She wished she hadn’t been a witch, then she wouldn’t have to have done any of this. Then, what of Ron? Harry? The Twins? Ginny? She would have never meet them. That broke her heart even more. She would never wish that she hadn’t met them. Fred was like a brother to her, as much as Harry was. He had always made her laugh, and pulled stupid jokes and tricks. Well, now he could prank it up with the The Marauders, he would fit right in with the four of them. George on the other hand...she sobbed more at the thought. He had lost not only his twin, his other half, but he lost a part of himself with Fred. All of them had.
She finally sat up and brushed a few tears from her face. She winced in pain slightly as she tried to move her right wrist. “ Better go and get that looked at...” she muttered to herself and stood up. She looked down at her refection in the clear water. Her eyes were red from lack of sleep, from the dirt and from crying. Her face had cuts, dirt, tears and blood on it, and her hair was even more bushy then normal. It was a matted mess, and would be painful to brush out after. She took a step back from the water and looked around once again. The castle was still standing, there was Grawp and Hagrid, the brothers were both happy. She closed her eyes once again, and swayed slightly.
Hermione felt an arm go around her and felt the warmth of another person. She turned slightly and buried her face into the shirt of Ron. She would know him anywhere. She felt tears in her eyes once again and blinked them back. He lightly lifted her and carried her back into the castle. She took once last glance at the sky and the sun before she was brought over to the staff of nurses from Mungo’s. It was mocking them, but it was also Fred looking down at them. The orange of his hair showing everyone he loved, that he was always there. Hermione sighed, “Have fun with your pranks...never forget us.” she whispered looking at the sky and then letting Ron take her inside. This was the beginning of the rest of their lives.
