Much of Adrian's flaws can be attributed to his upbringing and the minor inbreeding in his family. He is as arrogant as any Lestrange, believing himself above and beyond the law and scrutiny of all but the few he deems to be his peers. While he pretends to be untouchable, he knows that scandal follows him and he's only just barely managed to escape the papers in the past. He is also lazy, and will spend days in an insomnia-induced laziness, in which he'll do nothing until something spurs him back into action. More than this, however, he is by anyone's definition, a sl.ut. He does have standards, but as long as the person is goodlooking enough, he'll go for them. And if anyone has particularly caught his attention, he is willing to wait. However, Adrian doesn't believe in staying in relationships for very long; he finds them tiresome and not at all fulfilling. If someone did manage to wrangle him into a relationship, he would not stay faithful. Unfortunately, he is also quite cowardly, and runs away from situations that will not go towards his benefit. As of late, he's been allowing his temper to stew and brew and eventually he explodes, often in the most inconvenient of situations.

While it seems unlikely, Adrian is a patient young man. He knows that good things come to those who wait, whether it be investment - he has quite the business sense - or any goal he has in mind. Another route to his goals is through manipulation, another skill he has picked up and honed and has no problem using in any situation. He does this through distraction, charm, good looks, and simply knowing a great deal of trivia that can change the subject. The only person he knows as of yet who can resist his manipulation is his sister. The reason this works is that he is entirely confident of what he is saying, whether it is true or not - and usually he doesn't have to resort to lying, simple bending of truths will do. While not academically smart, Adrian is cunning and life-smart; he knows how people work and think.

Adrian is a good-looking young man, and one who knows it. While not particularly tall, he uses what he has to his advantage. His light brown eyes sometimes give him the appearance of being friendlier than he is, while his dark, sharp clothing is meant to keep people away. His dark hair, cut in a rather unique style, balances nicely with the ever-present stubble that he cannot seem to rid himself of no matter how he tries. He is unnaturally skinny, but he finds it suits him and allows him to cut a more dignified figure considering his height. On occasion Adrian can be found in something other than black, in which case he opts for white or grey, preferring to stay away from colour.

The Lestrange family has a history of dark magic and of choosing the losing side. Historically, they've all been Slytherins, and are a strong pureblood family. Rabastan was no different, and used his Slytherin cunning to escape Azkaban at the end of the last war. Though he was already fairly old, he married a pureblood woman afterwards by the name of Mary, and proceeded to have three children.

Right from the start Adrian often considered himself better than his two siblings, as he was the oldest and the heir. However, for all intents and purposes, his sister was the same age as he, and so they spent nearly all of their childhood together, as the best of friends. In many ways, his sister was the more controlling - she knew precisely how to make Adrian do her bidding.

Childhood wasn't the most pleasant of times. As the heir, he was practically placed on a pedestal to be an example for his siblings and any other family members. He was to be the perfect son, and his aunt didn't like that. She believed her children were better, and often Adrian received punishments from her for no reason, enough that the woman continues to scare him even into his adult life, though he can stay away from her now.

All too soon came Hogwarts, where he and his sister were sorted into Slytherin as any good Lestranges must. Friends gathered about him like fleas, but none of them were real friends - they wanted him for his name, his family, his power. But all too soon they recognised him as an oddity, for Adrian had a secret that he kept to himself for some time: he was bisexual. Strange for a young teenager, Adrian was surprisingly active in relationships right from the start. It was rarely a surprise to find him snogging some girl (usually older) in some darkened corner. Eventually he even opened up and allowed himself to go after boys too; there was no use denying himself, though his parents never knew. Because of all this, Adrian lost his virginity at quite the young age.

There was, however, a problem that had begun to arise; Adrian had seen how his sister reacted to his romantic pursuits. At first he thought her merely angry that he was so public, but he learned that it was something more: she was incredibly possessive, and did not trust him to keep their family name intact. Still, he spent more time with his twin than he did with most other people, and they were the perfect study partners for one another, being practically able to read the other's mind.

Academically, Adrian was fairly mediocre. He particularly enjoyed potions and transfiguration, but he was never anything special. Over time, a bit of an explosive temper developped, along with chronic restlessness. He'd always been rather cowardly and lazy, and he certainly didn't seek out fights. Now that he's graduated, he's not looking to change his ways one bit, even if his parents disapprove - if he was to be heir, they wanted him to being above average in both academics and attitude. He doesn't particularly want to join the death eaters, but knows that it is probably inevitable, as many of his friends and even most past lovers are on that side. It's not that he doesn't want to help - he does - he just isn't into that much commitment, in any aspect of his life.
