Vivianne noticed his eyes widened when she admitted that Meg was, in fact, a death eater. She could notice the change in him right away. Apparently the thought hadn't crossed his mind. He hadn't expected her to have a sister who worked with the people who wanted him dead. He had probably thought that her family was just one of those that didn't like people like him in society or school with their children. He must not have considered that one of her relatives could be working against him in such a severe way. She should have thought about the consequences more when she had decided to open her mouth and say something to him about her sister.
She saw him divert his eyes and almost wished she could have missed it. She didn't want to see the look of complete surprise that came to him. He hadn't been expecting it, that much was obvious. He moved his eyes to his lap, probably as a way to keep him from looking up at her. She could just imagine the things going on in his head. He was probably trying to reason in much the same way that she tried to reason with herself often. He was probably wondering how she could sit here in his arms while her sister was out doing God knows what to people like him. The Ravenclaw him probably couldn't understand it. She didn't know if she could describe it accurately.
At her words she could see his eyes move to meet hers. She moved closer to him and hoped that this time she would just know the way to make them understand how she felt. She didn't know how to explain it any more than she already had. It was close enough to kiss now, though she didn't make the move to do so. How could he think that she would regret this? She knew it was dangerous and probably stupid, but she couldn't imagine herself sitting here with anyone else. Didn't he see that much? She didn't know how she could possibly be keeping it a secret from him. He could see through her in every other aspect.
His lips brushed hers and she felt herself lean forward slightly to meet him. Couldn't he tell just from the effect that he had on her? His hands dropped from her face into her waist and pulled her closer. She didn't object and let her body mold against his. "Yeah, I do," she answered, even though he very well knew the answer. They had been over it enough. Couldn't he just accept it and realized that she did care for him? She didn't know how else to say it.
His face was a telltale sign of his emotions. He wasn't happy, he was frustrated and scared and maybe even a little mad. "I know it doesn't make any sense," Vivianne heard herself say again. "I can't explain it, but I know that it's true. Isn't that enough?" She kept her face close to his and brushed their noses together again. She likes just being close to him, even when they were talking about less exciting things than she would prefer. Even when they were talking about things that she would rather ignore, she preferred their time together to any other she experienced. It really didn't make sense for things to be like this but she didn't know how to help it. "Besides, I know it's scary, but I want it enough, you know? Don't you?"
She swallowed and looked down from his face with theirs still close. "We don't have to talk about them," Vivi continued. "Their opinions aren't mine. I care about you, and that's what matters, isn't it?" She felt herself swallow again and found it slightly hard to breathe. He thought he wasn't worth her time, and he didn't know the half of it. He was far better than anything she could have hoped for, and he didn't even realize it. He didn't care that her family would sooner kill him and let him become part of it, and his feelings for her still didn't change. She certainly didn't deserve someone like him, even if he would never realize it. "I... I guess," she answered with a thick voice. He really didn't understand.
