Scorp approved this and gave the ok to see what everyone here at the board thinks of the idea.. so read it and spill all your likes/dislikes/concerns/suggestions ok? :0)
Muggle wizard sightings are on the rise... from the noticing of magical creatures both great and small to underage wand work that can't be traced.. even the occasional more sinister attack by witches and wizards unkown, an occurrence rising in regularity... and it only seems to be getting worse.. buildings both residential and official, forests and schools kept unplottable by muggles for centuries have failed in there protective charms.. the wizarding worlds shields are weakening at the edges... someone's not content to hide behind the cover ups and lies any longer.. someone wants two very separate worlds to collide.. the question is who, and why? Is it a fanatical wizard group bent on their obsession of muggle equality rights?.. Perhaps some of the muggle borns are fed up with having to live double lives?...Or is it the beginning traces of new plot hatched by those rising to power in Bellatrixes wake to force a new third war.. a war that if brought about, will change the lives of wizard and muggle alike forever.. muggles are finding out... the flood gates are opening.. and at the rate its happening even the highly trained Obliviators and Aurors wont be able to to keep 'every' muggle in the dark... some will detest what they discover...others will be fascinated and thrilled to learn what they always suspected to be the truth.. and a great many as in the days of old.. will fear what their eyes are telling them but their minds are unable to grasp or accept.. Death eaters arn't the only threat out there anymore.. are we really so superior? After all..muggles have come a long way in developing their own brand of "magics"...Pure verses "Mud"? Child's play.. enter the new age... the third war is knocking...

xD I already told Rory, but I like the idea. A lot. It's very original and also something that I could so see happening.

Okay, first of all, I love this plot, Rory. Not only does it sound like lots of fun, it has lots of roleplaying possibilities. ^^ So I very much approve.
I might have a subplot to kick this bigger plot off, and it will involve two or more new characters. I’m interested in playing one of them because I’d love to pick up a new character, and the others mentioned in my subplot are totally up for discussion/grabs. This is just the rough draft of a subplot, please give your input and such.
So the Muggle world is gradually becoming aware of the fact that there’s something else out there…a community of magical beings. Now, even though not many Muggles believe that such conspiracy theories actually exist, but government organizations have begun to investigate because of the number and persistence of such extraordinary sightings. The Muggles simply want to gather information first—they have no plans for later, and they won’t know how to handle anything until they know exactly what they’re up against. So they hunt around for potential spies, or “information gatherers” as they call them, and they eventually track down a few Muggleborns and halfbloods using methods they prefer not to disclose, and ‘convince’ (through bribery or threats) them to become spies for these Muggle agencies. These wizards/witches are sent off to their magical schools, some feeling like traitors, some feeling nothing at all, and some grateful for the opportunity.
Here’s where it would get even more complicated >.<
Around 2-3 students would be spies at Hogwarts, I think—not too many, but enough. The only thing is that they’ve been sent from different Muggle organizations and have no idea that they’re not the only ones gathering information for the Muggles. Maybe two of them are from the same organization (team #1), working together even though they have different attitudes about it, and one is working on his own (team #2). Now, once these students start slinking around, acting guilty, writing lots of letters, being secretive, and keeping to themselves, some students and professors get suspicious, but none suspect exactly what they’re doing. However, this is where my natural love of drama kicks in.
On Team #1, I would prefer the 2 students to be a boy and a girl. On Team #2, I would prefer the student to be a boy. I would also need a Hogwarts student uninvolved in the spying business, preferably a girl.
So the girl on Team #1 is snooping around the castle one night, feeling guilty for doing so, when she runs into the boy from Team #2 doing the same thing, only he doesn’t regret it—the wizarding world has not been kind to him. They immediately get paranoid and suspect what the other is doing, and throughout the next few days they watch each other and come to the conclusion that the other person is a spy too. Of course they butt heads for a while, refusing to admit it, but eventually they fess up. The girl wants to stop betraying her friends, but the boy tries to convince her to continue. They have to keep quiet, though, because they can’t talk to anyone else for fear of revealing their positions. The girl can’t even tell the other boy on Team #1, because if the Muggles knew about him they would try to get rid of the other organization’s spy. The trouble is, it’s harder and harder to stay away from each other—they’re falling in love. The girl wants to stop all of this, while the boy wants to find Hogwart’s biggest weakness so he can expose it. The trouble is, he doesn’t want to upset the girl. So just as she starts to alienate herself from the wizarding world in hopes of getting closer to boy #1, he is reporting less and less information to the Muggles in hopes of pleasing her. Each of them have to choose sides—and keep everything a secret from both sides. They’re dangerously in the middle, with neither side to protect them. Drama! I’ll leave their final choice up to the character’s roleplayers. (P.S. I would super-love to be the girl, but if anyone else really wants it just let me know and I’ll switch ^^)
Meanwhile, the other boy on Team #1 is busy doing his job, even though his partner is being suspicious. One of his reporting letters to the Muggle organization is confiscated one day by a third year who was just trying to play a prank. The third year doesn’t understand why boy #2 is freaking out looking for his letter. The third year doesn’t even read the note—he just shoves it in his book bag, where his older sister (girl #2) finds it later, and reads it. She’s horrified that there’s a spy in their midst (little does she know, there’s 3) and immediately begins to seek out this spy. She’s doing a decent job in tracking him down by handwriting analysis alone, when boy #2 notices that this girl is on a warpath and gets scared. He writes a note to the Muggle organization telling them about his problem, but before he can get a reply, the girl tracks him down. She’s furious with him, calls him a traitor, and generally gives him a mental and emotional beating. However, when he explains his situation to her, she begins to understand him a little more, and in a classic “love at first conversation” situation, they fall in love. The girl vows to help the boy get out from under the thumb of the Muggles, and they begin to look for a way out together. Before they can find a solution, the Muggle agency sends a reply to boy #2’s letter—they promise to “take care of” this girl who’s found him out. Basically, the Muggles have a hit out on girl #2, who’s in love with boy #2, who feels insanely guilty. Now these two have to decide what to do. The Muggles are unlikely to forgive the girl and let her be (they’re an underground operation, after all) and the only other side they can get protection from is the Hogwarts staff. The problem is, if boy #2 tells the professors about the situation, he not only puts himself in danger, but also his fellow spy, girl #1. (again, the final choice is up to the roleplayers of said characters.)
So they’re all in this together (sort of). Or at least they will be, once the truth comes out on both sides.
Yeah, this was SO MUCH longer than I expected. O.O Seriously, it all came pouring out. But here it is in its complicated, drama-filled glory. Any comments/suggestions/rejections?
EDIT;;;; If you would like to sign up for a character or just have a personal question, feel free to PM me on Rose's account. ^^

So for the sake of having a general direction to RP towards. In regards to the forum wide plot I posted *points to first post in thread* I think we need to iron out a rather major detail of it... "Who" is responsible for the failing wards and protection spells? whats the bigger picture..how are things actually coming about on the evil side of things. I came up with whats happening and I'm ready to dive into things with Harry and Austin, but first we need to know in what direction to have the RP being driven.. when they discover small things in threads and such it would be helpful to have an 'answer' to gear their discoveries towards. (am I making any sense? I hope I am) Here's an Idea I've come up with that could fit with the main plot and blend in the spies now running around Hogwarts in a subplot (thanks to Rosie's creative brain *g* ..*see post directly above*), your opinion on it please? Yes..no..? Scorp need your input/opinion here really bad since you role play Mr. nasty himself.
So for this idea it would be Regulus and his group, delving into the darker side of magic and creating new ways to dispel the wards, break protective spells thought to be unbreakable and any other horrible spell/enchantment type stuff that we can dream up and Scorp will allow. How though, could they have created such magic that even the great Albus Dumbledore couldn't predict it? and the fallen Dark Lord and his now deceased Bellatrix hadn't thought to dabble in it? Well... Scorp said Regulus is after power.. he can really care less about the blood purity thing personally and that's just a ruse he keeps up to keep the Death eaters loyal right? so these spies have been filtering info on the wizards to the muggles for most of this year with three of the spies (am I right about that?) and from the day he set foot in Hogwarts years ago for my spy character who's a 6th year.. so what if the muggles have used the knowledge they've gained through the spies and combined it with there own knowledge of technology and such.. been experimenting with it.. and Regulus has somehow found out ( which this would also explain the failed wards at the dance and how they got past all the protection the Aurors had in place if he found out and did this before the dance) so he finds out about the muggles experiments and some how wins over one or more people from the muggle world. ( feeds them a lie or what not about it being the best thing for both worlds or finds someone just as evil/power hungry as him but has no intention of keeping any promises he makes to the muggle) Working with the muggle/muggles he combines what the death eaters have researched about the darker arts with what the muggles have discovered through experimentation and they manage to create spells and such that even the wizarding world hadn't thought possible. ( with prior OOC discussion first on any specific spells ect created of course since their liable to step outside the 'laws' of magic and science alike)
ummm.. so, the part in blue would need more development, and we'd also need more development on just what parts of their technology the muggles were experimenting with... possibility's.. electricity? .. mechanical gadgets and gizmos? Ideas please? *g*
The good guys would be in the dark about all of this if we did it.. they'd figure it out and piece it together over time through cases the Ministry deals with and situations that occur so it would give all of us Ministry workers some plotage to RP out as well as a plot set up for the bad guys.

I really like the idea of the muggles and the Death Eaters somehow combining forces (however losely) to help take down Hogwarts. Like the way us muggles use technology to break down computer codes and hack other place, I bet that somehow combined with magic would work on taking down the wards around Hogwarts. There are a few things to consider though. We'd have to make sense out of it all, because usually any hint of magic around technology makes it spaz and stop working, so Regulus would have to be working around that. And also, we have to make sure that however far we get with this thing, there's a way to...reverse it, I guess.
I mean, in the end Regulus is going to die, which takes care of the Death Eaters using new magic to fight against Hogwarts. However, we have to make sure that the wizarding world can somehow take care of the muggles. That would be a lot simpler if we tried to keep the muggle agents down to just a few groups, like the two spying groups, and then maybe take somebody out of one of those agencies to team up with Reg. Because in the end, the wizarding world will still be kept secret, right?

I get what your saying about the muggle electronics not working and what not.. but maybe that could be where the years of muggle experimentation come in? they find a way to get magic to work with their technology and then Regulus and the death eaters introduce some really dark spells that make the now working muggle contraptions that much more dangerous? And I agree it should be limited to the three agencies..kept hush hush and maybe only leaked out to the general public in small un-intended doses that could be hunted down by Aurors and/or Obliviators and taken care of. Then at the end of it all we could have the good guys discover some sort of way for to overcome what the agencies have discovered, meaning the way technology can be made to work around magic? Maybe they find out all the spy agencies and raid them all ( aren't there only 2 ?) destroy all the research and evidence of it and Obliterate that portion of the memories of everyone there..after Regulus has been taken care of?... and in the end it would serve to strengthen the wizarding worlds resolve that now, more than ever its important to keep the two worlds apart

Yeah. I think it is important that it's not a lot of people from the muggle world in on this, so things can be repaired. The rest of what you said makes sense.
