TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN?!
If I could dream a thousand dreams and not cry a thousand streams...
"I can't do it! Dream cried throwing her card to the floor. She knew she should have gone off to the auditorium with the rest of the drama lot, but she didn't want to be around them right now. She was just so mad with her project. Dream loved acting but until now she had been comfortable with what she had had to act, this role was too personal, too difficult, and completely unlike herself. True acting is where you act another person but that doesn't change the fact that she didn't hate her new role. Glaring down at the upside down card she stomped her feet in disgust and once again paced the room in utter annoyance. "I've played teenage mom's, drug addicts, virgins, prostitutes, everything....I would play anything anything but not this!" she cried although there was nobody at all to talk to.
The studio was a dim place, unless of course the lights were on and then it was just beautiful. Dream saw the beauty and goodness in absolutely everything but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't see how this would help her at all with her acting abilities. Everyone else had had roles to challenge themselves, and although Dream was up for this, she didn't agree with how she had been cast. She was already forging sick notes in her head, how many weeks would it be for her to mask this character? Seven like the others had been? Seven weeks...it was a long time to be just...normally sick, but she was sure that the teacher would believe she had entered rehab or something although didn't that involve like a note or something? Either way Dream, the perfect student, was considering cutting class. This was obviously not a good role for her to be playing.
It wasn't even the fact that it was a hard role, as yes it was but her mother. "GAH!" she sighed which was so unlike her. Although most actresses seemed to have the dramatic strops down to a T, Dream didn't she was kind and honest and she was willing to do anything to be recognised as a real actress and not just some dumb blonde. This out of character behavior was beginning to even scare herself. Realising how stupid she was acting, although she didn't feel like acting like any other sane person would right now, she bent down her white dress almost touching her golden heels and picked up the card. Turning it over she sighed and read the words she had been dreading Alcoholic Mother.
Dream loved her mom and had a wonderful relationship with her, and this was mainly thanks to rehab. The idea of playing such a person made her stomach turn as her mother had been an alcoholic for a little while, and although she was now sober, Dream just didn't like the idea of doing it at all. Sitting down on one of the three steps she sighed to herself. There was no way out of this role, she had to do a portfolio on five acting positions, and as this was going to be her third one she knew she had to do it justice. At least with it so close to home she would act it brilliantly, but that didn't change the fact that she still didn't want to do it. The whole idea just made her feel sick.
