Kevin checked his hair in the mirror one last time before-"Keviiin! Come oooon! We're going to be laaate!" Anna whined at him from the front door, stamping her tiny feet for emphasis. "YeahyeahI'mcomingJustholdon," he spoke so fast the words blurred together, his fingers flashing just as rapidly through his already styled hair.
"Hisoka! Move it!" His mother called, still, after all these years, not used to his "English" name. His father sat in the car and honked the horn. Kevin threw open the door and dashed outside where his mother and sister could already be found in the car. He pulled open the door and launched himself onto the backseat next to Anna, who yelped and glared at him.
"Hisoka, I do not appreciate your lateness," his father said plainly in Japanese. "We only make this trip to Dragon Alley for you."
"Diagon, Dad," Kevin answered back in English. "And I know. I'm sorry. It won't happen again." Anna rolled her eyes and stared out the window.
The trip to Diagon Alley was long from their house far from London, but since none of his family knew how to use the flu network, they would all pile in the car for the hours long ride. His father, balding and bespectacled would complain about the economy, his mother would nod and "hai" in all the right places, her raven hair back in a severe bun, and Anna would textextext for hours on end, and when not texting, play with her bleached blonde hair until she got another text. Kevin simply stared out the window and watched the scenery flash by.
